This article provides guidance on how to create nursery profiles on TerraMatch. A nursery profile can represent a single nursery or a grouping of nurseries that your project is building/managing to produce seedlings for your project.

Overview

Your project team will need to create a nursery profile on TerraMatch for each case where:

• Your organization builds, expands, or manages/operates a nursery supplying seedlings to your project
• Your organization partners with an externally-run nursery by providing seeds, tools, capacity building, or other close support

Your project team will not need to create nursery profiles on TerraMatch if your organization is simply buying seedlings from an external source, or exclusively using direct seeding or assisted natural regeneration as your restoration strategies.

Step-by-Step Guidance for Nursery Profile Creation

• Log in to TerraMatch
• Click on "My Projects" at the top of the page
• There are two ways to add a nursery:

  • Directly from the "My Projects" page 

    

  • From the "Nurseries" tab within the project dashboard 

    

• Once you press "Add Nursery," you will enter the nursery establishment flow. The flow is divided into four sections and you can navigate between them in any order, but you must answer all required questions before submitting the nursery profile. Please use the Nursery Establishment Checklist attached to this article to access the information you’ll need to set up your nursery profiles in TerraMatch.

• Part 1 – Nursery Overview: This where you will need to add basic information about your nursery, including nursery name and its description, its status (whether you are building a new nursery, expanding an existing nursery, or managing a nursery)

  

• Part 2 – Nursery Details: this is where you will need to add the start and end dates for activity at the nursery and the breakdown of the species to be grown.

  

  
  Part 3 – Media Upload: This is where you will add at least one picture or video of the nursery. You can indicate if any uploaded media should remain private.

  

• Part 4 – Review Details: This is where you will review all the information you’ve entered before submitting. You can make any changes by clicking “Edit” if needed.

Saving Your Progress

TerraMatch saves your progress automatically, allowing you to exit the nursery creation flow at any time and return to your draft later. To leave the flow, click “Save and Exit.” You can continue editing your draft nursery from the same starting point, either the “My Projects” page or the Nurseries tab in the project dashboard.

Submit Your Nursery
Once you have added all the required information for your nursery profile, press "Submit" and your nursery will be submitted for your project manager to review. 

Please note that you will not be able to edit your nursery while it's under review. Your project manager will request any further details, as needed, via TerraMatch, and will approve your nursery once all details are finalized.

Once your nursery profile is approved, you can make updates by pressing the "Edit" button on the Nursery Set Up widget. Your project manager will need to approve any updates before they're reflected on your nursery profile.
