How to Create a Site Profile on TerraMatch

This article provides guidance on how to set up site profiles on TerraMatch. A site can represent a single restoration area or a grouping of restoration areas.

Sites are the core unit on which you'll report your restoration progress; because they are so important, you will have lots of support and guidance as you work through your siting strategy, establish site profiles on TerraMatch, collect polygons to represent your restoration areas, and report.

Step-by-Step Guidance for Site Creation

Overview

A site on TerraMatch can represent a single contiguous area of land where your project is implementing restoration activities, or it can represent multiple areas of land distributed across the landscape, as long as they have some common characteristics. Your team will work closely with your project manager and WRI's GIS Analysts to determine exactly how to represent your on-the-ground restoration work in site profiles on TerraMatch.

Please refer to this guidance to understand more about Grouping Restoration Areas into Sites on TerraMatch and about Project Structures on TerraMatch.

Each site profile on TerraMatch will house a polygon or multiple polygons to represent the exact geographic location(s) where your project is working. However, site establishment is a separate process from adding polygons. This article focuses on site creation. [COMING SOON: link to polygon guidance.]

  • Though you can switch between sections in any order, you will need to make sure that you answer all required questions in the form before you submit. You will see exclamation points in the left-side navigation panel for any sections that have required fields that are not filled out, and you can also review all your answers and click on any sections you need to return to on the final "Review Details" step:   review details - site form.png
  • Be sure to press “Submit” once your form is complete. This will send your project profile to your Project Manager for review, and close your project profile for editing.
  • Your Project Manager will either reopen the page with a request for more details on some of the fields, or approve the project profile.
