How to Add Monitoring Partners to Your Project

This article outlines what a "monitoring partner" is, who can or should be added as a monitoring partner on your project(s) on TerraMatch, and how add/remove monitoring partners.

Monitoring partners are individuals who have full access to your project profile and any affiliated sites and nurseries, and your reports/reported data, on TerraMatch. These may be members of your organization, or partners who are contributing to the project.

Please note: if your organization filled out an application for funding on TerraMatch, and your application was approved and transitioned into a project profile in 2026 or later, all of the users associated with your organization will be added as monitoring partners on your project. If someone joins your organization after your project profile is created, they will not automatically be added to your project as a monitoring partner, but you can follow the steps below to add them.

You can see a preview of your project's collaborators (including your project manager and monitoring partners) on the bottom left side of your project overview page, and you can click on "Manage Team" to see and manage the full list of monitoring partners.

On the "Team Members" tab, you can search within your project's team by name, filter team members by role (Project Manager or Monitoring Partner), and add or remove monitoring partners. Most actions can be found within the bar highlighted below:

If you press the "Add Team Member" button, you can enter an email and invite a colleague to join your project as a monitoring partner.

  • If your invitee has an account on TerraMatch, they will automatically be added to your project as a monitoring partner and will show as "Accepted" in the right-most column. They will receive a notification via email, and when they log in to TerraMatch, they will see the project and its associated reporting tasks.
  • If your invitee does not have an account on TerraMatch, they will receive an email invitation to join the platform; once they create an account, they will be added to your organization and to project as a monitoring partner.
    • If you see the "Pending" status on a monitoring partner, it means they have not yet joined TerraMatch; once they join, their status will display as "Accepted."

If you need to remove someone's access to your project, you can do so by hovering over their name in the list of monitoring partners. You'll see a red "Remove" button surface, and can press that and confirm that you want to remove them from the team.
