MRV Workshop Site & Nursery Confirmation Form

  • Overview

On TerraMatch, each project profile has one or more site profiles associated with it. Each profile represents a single, enclosed restoration area or several restoration areas that are grouped by proximity. After speaking with your TerraFund support team, you should know how many sites to create on TerraMatch for each planting season. You will report key data for each site every six months, including the number of trees planted on each site.

  • Site Name [Text]

Ensure that your are naming all of your sites in a consistent manner, agreed with your TerraFund support team.

  • Target Land Use Type* [Multiselect]

Select the target land use(s) that represent what the site will look like after your project is complete. Note that this is not the current use; it represents the future use. A single site can include multiple target land uses.

    • Agroforest, Mangrove, Natural Forest, Silvopasture, Riparian Area or Wetland, Urban Forest, Woodlot or Plantation
  • Restoration Strategy* [Multiselect]

Select the restoration strategy or strategies that explain how you will add trees to this site. A single site can include multiple restoration strategies.

    • Assisted Natural Regeneration, Direct Seeding, Tree Planting
  • Land Tenure* [Multiselect]

Select the land tenure system(s) that govern this site. Your TerraFund support team may require you to submit additional documentation justifying this selection in your future site reports. A single site can include multiple land tenure regimes.

    • Public, Private, Indigenous, Communal, National Protected Area, Other
  • Planting Start Date on Site* [Date]

Select the first day that you will plant or begin to naturally regenerate trees on this site. We understand that this is likely an approximation, but it is critical so that we can best support you in monitoring, reporting, and verification.

  • Planting End Date on Site* [Date]

Select the final day that you will plant or begin to naturally regenerate trees on this site. We understand that this is likely an approximation, but it is critical so that we can best support you in monitoring, reporting, and verification.

  • Total Approximate Hectares for Site* [#]

Enter the total number of hectares that you will restore on this site throughout the lifetime of your project. This is represented by the sum total of the restoration areas and should approximately match the total area of all polygons grouped into this site. Note that this should include all areas with active tree planting, along with areas improved through other techniques.

  • Polygon Collection Method for Site* [Multiselect]

Select if you will collect geospatial data for this site by collecting polygons (concentrated) or GPS point data (distributed). If you are uncertain, ask your TerraFund support team for their advice.

    • Concentrated, Distributed, Hybrid
  • Describe the characteristics of the site.* [Text]

Include information on when and how the site will be planted or regenerated, how the land is governed and who owns it, how landholders currently use the land, and any other details that your project manager could find useful. Please be detailed.

  • Explain the strategy used to group individual restoration areas into this site.* [Text]

TerraFund staff members work with each champion to group individual restoration areas, e.g., a single farm or a forest area, into site profiles. In your explanation, please include the overall bounds of the site area, number of landowners that you plan to work with in this site, the average size of each landholder’s plot of land you will be planting on, and the seasons where you expect to plant on this site.

NURSERY PROFILE ESTABLISHMENT FORM

  • Overview

Nurseries are the lifeblood of any tree planting project. Every time that your project builds a new nursery or expands an existing one to supply your sites, you must create a nursery profile on TerraMatch by filling out this form. If you manage several small nurseries that are in close proximity, you can group them into one profile, if approved by your project manager. Every six months, you will fill out a report for this nursery, as long as it is still active. If your project relies exclusively on direct seeding or assisted natural regeneration, you do not have to fill out this form.

  • Nursery Name* [Text]

Please provide a unique name for each nursery that will be easy for your team to remember. To make it easier to reference, we recommend you name nurseries "Your organization’s name –Nursery name" (ex. Tree Organization – Northeast Nursery).

  • Describe the characteristics of this nursery.* [TEXT]

Explain how you manage this nursery, its proximity to your TerraFund planting sites, and, if you are expanding an existing nursery, its operational history.

  • Will this be an expansion of an existing nursery or the creation of a new nursery dedicated to your TerraFund project?*

Indicate if you are expanding an existing nursery's capacity or building an entirely new nursery.

  • Start Date of Nursery Activity* [DATE]

This refers to the date where the nursery will begin growing the first seedling that will be planted on a TerraFund site. If this is a new nursery, this date will match the first date of the nursery’s operations.

  • End Date of Nursery Activity* [DATE]

This refers to the date when the nursery will export its last seedling to a TerraFund site. This does not necessarily denote the last date of operations at a nursery if it is sourcing other projects.

  • How many seedlings will be grown in this nursery for your TerraFund project?* [#]

Indicate the number of mature, ready-to-plant seedlings that this nursery expects to grow to maturity over the lifetime of the project. This should include only the number of seedlings that will be planted on TerraFund sites, even if the nursery supplies multiple projects.

  • How many seedlings of each species will you grow within this nursery as part of your TerraFund project?* [List + Count]

Please enter the scientific name and count of each tree species grown in this nursery. The total number of seedlings grown for each species must add up to the total number of seedlings that the nursery will grow. This list should only include species that are included in your TerraFund contract.

  • Please add any images or videos of this nursery.

If operations have begun, please upload images or videos of this specific nursery.
