The Land Accelerator Landscapes builds on 5 years of learning with the Land Accelerator Africa program to provide tailored, localized training and mentorship to companies that restore land in three focus landscapes:
- Kenya’s Greater Rift Valley
- Lake Kivu & Rusizi River Basin of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda
- Ghana Cocoa Belt
To be eligible for the Landscapes opportunity, companies must restore land in one of the three landscapes. Verify eligibility of your company’s area of operation within landscape boundaries here.
Companies must also meet the Land Accelerator Africa eligibility requirements to be considered for selection.
Program Overview
The Land Accelerator Landscapes program consists of two parts:
1. Land Accelerator Virtual Training:
This virtual training program comprises of 12 weekly sessions covering pitching, the realities of funding, gender mainstreaming, financial modeling, impact monitoring, and more. Sessions will be conducted jointly for the Land Accelerator Africa Top 100 cohort and the Land Accelerator Landscapes cohort every Tuesday, virtually on Zoom.
2. Landscape Programs
These novel landscape-focused programs are led by landscape training partners in each of the three landscapes. Training activities including virtual and in-person workshops, mentorship, field visits, and more are planned to occur between May and September 2024. Within each of the landscapes, training cohorts will be organized based on company growth stage.
Additional in-landscape training workshops organized by the World Resources Institute will be offered to selected enterprises in September – November 2024.
How does the Land Accelerator Landscapes program differ from the Land Accelerator Africa?
The Land Accelerator Africa is offered to enterprises in all AFR100 Initiative countries. All entrepreneurs who are restoring land anywhere in these countries are encouraged to apply. Learn more about this opportunity here.
The Land Accelerator Landscapes adds on to the Land Accelerator experience with localized training and networking. The Landscapes program offers similar training as the Land Accelerator Africa, with the addition of activities both virtually and in-person from the landscape training partners.
Companies who successfully complete the Land Accelerator Landscapes will also have the opportunity to apply to TerraFund for AFR100 Landscapes.
How to apply
No separate application or distinction is necessary to apply for the Land Accelerator Landscapes program. The selection committee will consider all applications from companies operating in the eligible landscapes for both the LA Landscapes and LA Africa programs.
Apply for all Land Accelerator Africa opportunities on TerraMatch by March 20, 2024. The deadline to complete started applications is March 27.
