How to Create a TerraFund Nursery Profile

Nurseries are the lifeblood of any tree planting project. Every time that your project builds a new nursery or expands an existing one to supply your sites, you must create a nursery profile on TerraMatch.

If you source your seedlings from nurseries that other people (external to your organization) build, expand, or manage, you do not have to add these nursery profiles to your project. If your project relies exclusively on direct seeding or assisted natural regeneration, you do not have to add any nurseries to your project. To create a site on TerraMatch, follow these steps:

Start the process to add a nursery:

1. Log in to your TerraMatch account.
2. Click on "My Projects" at the top of the page.
3. You can add a site from either of two starting points:
   1. Directly from the "My Projects" page
   2. From the "Nurseries" tab within the project dashboard

Add a New Nursery

1. Once you press "Add Nursery," you will enter the nursery establishment flow.
   1. You will need to add basic information about your nursery, including nursery name, description, status (whether you are building a new nursery, expanding an existing nursery, or managing a nursery), start and end dates for activity at the nursery, breakdown of the species to be grown, and at least one photo (you will be able to indicate if any media that you upload should remain private).

Note - Saving Your Progress

• Take your time! TerraMatch automatically saves your progress, so you can exit the nursery creation flow and return to your draft nursery any time.
  • To leave the nursery creation flow, press "Close and continue later"
  • You can access and continue working on your draft site profile in the same places you started the site creation process; either from the "My Projects" page or via the Nurseries tab within the project dashboard. 

Submit Your Nursery

• Once you have added all the required information for your nursery profile, press "Submit" and your nursery will be submitted for your project manager or portfolio specialist to review. You will not be able to edit your nursery while it's under review. Your project manager will request any further details, as needed, via TerraMatch, and will approve your nursery once all details are finalized.

Manage Nursery Profiles

• Add as many nurseries as needed for your project
  
  • You can delete draft nurseries if needed, by pressing the trash can icon
  • You can submit edit requests for your project manager to review by pressing the "Edit" button in the banner image of your site page.
